This client wanted to add some ambiance to their client waiting area and provide some privacy to the phone attendant from those waiting in the guest lounge.

Before the days of Sonos, in this project, we simply used a 40GB iPod & compact stereo receiver, connected to a pair of Bowers & Wilkins in-wall speakers for either an MP3 playlist or radio as desired.

As it was a retrofit, cabling practicality was a factor, so speakers with direction-adjustable drivers were used to project the sound at an angle to the installation plane.
